Welcome
Hello, my name is Marianne…
Welcome to Glyndwr Dragons Canoe Club. This club was established in 2009 to offer access to competitive paddlesport for all abilities – from total novice to competitive player. Based in the North Wales area, we train in various locations and aim to provide the opportunity to compete against other local and national clubs, as well as supporting other club members to train and go to events such as Gemau Cymru. Our training sessions are family friendly, with an emphasis on structured training and development, as well as having lots of fun.
We are keen to support the local clubs and schools to offer competitive opportunities to their members. Our Sunday morning session is all inclusive but other clubs bringing youngsters need to bring a supporting coach (or volunteer) too.
We currently offer canoe polo, slalom, WWR, and sprint racing as well as coach development and personal proficiency awards in most disciplines. The sessions are open to all, from under 8 years upwards. You do not need to have any previous canoe polo or kayaking experience, so feel free to get in touch for more information or come along to a training session.
The pool sessions are on Mondays at Bangor Leisure Centre 19:40 – 21:00, outdoor sessions are at Y Glyn, Llyn Padarn on Sunday mornings from 11:00. As soon as we have enough light there will be an evening session at Y Glyn during the week and moving water sessions for the WWR and slalom. Ergo and gym sessions will be available more widely soon too!
Hope to see you on the water soon…
